The economy has had a significant affect on trends in stone. At Larry’s Cap Rock & Stone we have seen this emerge in several ways:
Authentic Materials – The consumer has a desire to know the story behind the stone. Where is it quarried? Who is quarrying it? How is it fabricated? These are all questions that the 2012 client wants answered. One need only look at Restoration Hardware’s catalog that showcases the craftsmanship of their furniture.
This trend will result in clients looking for weathered looks, vintage patinas, and reclaimed stone.
Clients will drive use of natural tactile stones that are local and indigenous to the area. Expect to see a growing demand for light beiges, light greens and light gray tones that are colors found in nature. Reclamation of used stones will also drive this trend.
