Ladies… I was first made aware of a new best seller by the Newsweek cover “The Fantasy Life of Working Women,” that beckoned me to buy when my outbound flight was delayed last week. The New York Times best seller in question is called 50 Shades of Grey. It is the first in a romance trilogy that has won millions of fans with its erotic depictions of female submission. Newsweek was examining why the modern working woman has retro fantasies. On my way home I had to download the book to see why Newsweek titled it “mommy porn.” I was barely through the first chapter when I learned the author EL James was kicking off her book tour signing at Books & Books. So today’s post is inspired by the 50 Shades of Grey.
